Metal Preparation Services

AC Blast Solutions

At AC Powder Coatings, we are lucky to have our sister company also located on the same site - AC Blast Solutions. AC Blast Solutions are able to offer options to suit a variety of preparation needs. See below for a small breakdown of just some of what we can offer...

Pyrolysis Oven / Burn Off Oven

Pyrolysis Oven

Having a pyrolysis oven has been a great asset to our business and allows us to take on work that otherwise would take hours and hours of shot blasting. A pyrolysis oven works by taking the material up to high temperatures, carbonising and turning any old grease, paint or powder coat to a fine ash. We only use this oven for ferrous metals.

Shot Blasting Cabinet

Shot Blast Room

A recent addition to our kit is a new shot blast room. This room allows us to take on larger jobs and makes light work of even the toughest paint and rust. We use a very coarse chilled iron grit and blast at an angle to the material, preventing damage to the metal underneath and blowing all of the old dusty paint towards our media recovery system.

Shot Blasting Room (Container)

Shot Blast Cabinet

Our shot blast cabinet is one of our most used pieces of equipment, this is very similar to our room, but uses a finer grit media and a lower air pressure. Great for smaller jobs that have been in our pyrolysis oven, or jobs where an extra element of accuracy / control is needed. Again chilled iron grit is used, and is blasted at an angle allowing the media to be picked up by our recovery system.

Vapour Blasting Service

Vapour Blast Cabinet

Alongside our shot blast cabinet is where you will find our vapour blast cabinet. This is used for any non ferrous materials and uses high pressure water to carry a gentle abrasive media. For this we have opted to use pink aluminium oxide. This machine provides a smooth clean finish ready for paint. We can also offer a cleaning service using this equipment for any aluminium / stainless parts needing a flat, dull look.
